Roma rival West Ham for Carlos Bacca
West Ham face a battle with Serie A side Roma for the signing of AC Milan striker Carlos Bacca this summer, according to Italian source Calciomercato.
The 29-year-old striker has been heavily linked with a move away from Italy this summer with Paris Saint-Germain and Bayern Munich both also being credited with interest in the striker.
AC Milan aren’t actively looking to sell Bacca this summer after he netted 18 times in 38 Serie A appearances last season following his £22.5m move from Sevilla but are believed to be considering doing business if anyone makes a bid in the region of what they paid for him.
The Hammers have so far only offered £16m for the Colombian international but are now at risk of losing out on his services as Roma prepare a £24m bid for Bacca, say the Express.
Roma have offered Bacca a lucrative three-year contract worth £70,000-a-week which would’ve made him one of West Ham’s highest-earners as well as their record-transfer should they stump up the £24m.
The Colombian’s agent, Sergio Barila, has confirmed to Tuttomercatoweb that there are many offers for his client who can guarantee his employers many goals.
Bacca and myself are evaluating more than one possibility. There are many important teams who have contacted us, which is normal since Bacca is a striker who guarantees many goals per season.
