Niang wants West Ham move over Everton
AC Milan forward M’Baye Niang is believed to be interested in a move to West Ham over Everton this summer if he were to leave the San Siro, according to Calciomercato.
The Frenchman has had an injury hit season due to a broken metatarsal along with several muscular injuries along the way but still managed to be a consistent performer for Milan last season, netting eight times in 21 appearances.
It’s believed that the Serie A side, following the arrival of Gianluca Lapadula from Pescara earlier this week, Milan would consider the sale of the France U21 international.
Milan are said to be looking for a fee in the region of £14.6m to let Niang go this summer – a fee Everton are prepared to meet. However, Niang is said to be preferring a move to East London with West Ham because they have European football next season and are a club moving in an upward direction.
The Hammers at this stage are not prepared to meet Milan’s asking price but that situation could now change in light of these reports.
The 21-year-old doesn’t fit the bill of the 20-goal-a-season striker West Ham are said to be keen on signing this summer but could be a decent developmental prospect who could grow into that role. Niang also offers great versatility with his ability to play on either winger as well as up top.
