West Ham reached an agreement with Besiktas for the transfer of Turkish international Gökhan Tore after weeks of negotiations and several unsuccessful bids.

According to Turkish source FutbolArena, the Hammers have agreed to pay €13million for Tore, who scored six and assisted nine last season. Besiktas were resigned to losing Tore and decided to lower their asking price, from €17million, in fear of West Ham turning their attentions to alternative targets.

The Super Lig side will still be happy with the fee fetched from Tore’s sale considering he arrived from Rubin Kazan for just €4.5million in 2014 (€8.5million profit).

It is thought that the 24-year-old has agreed a contract worth €1.6million (approximately £1.3million) per year [£25,000-a-week], putting him on par with Michail Antonio and Aaron Cresswell.

The Express claim confirmation of the transfer of Tore will come next week, with the Hammers keen to get the deal over the line as soon as possible.

Earlier this month, Tore made his desire to reunite with Slaven Bilic at West Ham public.

“I have a contract until 2019 at Besiktas,” Tore, as quoted by Yazbir, said. “But I completed my mission here. If they meet my fee, I want to play at West Ham.”
