Liverpool join Manchester United in chase for Oxford
According to ClubCall, Liverpool are interested in signing West Ham youngster Reece Oxford.
Oxford has grabbed the attention of several Premier League clubs this season. He started a handful of times for West Ham at the start of last season, aged just 16. Though his game time soon dried up after that and he then only featured in the under-21 Premier League.
As well as interest from Liverpool, Manchester United are also said to be interested. Newly-promoted Bundesliga side RB Leipzig are the only said to have contracted Oxford regarding a potential move. They reportedly offered the youngster £20,000 a week and also told him first team football would be a certainty. Unfortunately for Leipzig it seems as though the Hammers are unwilling to sell the Academy graduate and the closest any team has come to securing his signing is Newcastle, who want him on a season long loan.
Although the club do not want Oxford to leave, it may be hard for him to turn down a move away if, one of the biggest teams in England, Liverpool come calling.
