Napoli turns down rival bid for West Ham target
Napoli have turned down a bid from Stoke City for supposed West Ham target Manolo Gabbiadini according to Football Italia
Stoke have supposedly bid €25 million for the Italian, who looks likely to be leaving Napoli due to the fact he has been forced to play second fiddle behind star striker Gonzalo Higuain.
The club are supposedly asking for a fee of €30 million (£24 million) for the striker, and West Ham could be one of the clubs interested in acquiring his services. However, this may be a last resort move, mainly due to the fact that Alexandre Lacazette and Carlos Bacca are seemingly Slaven Bilic’s main striking targets in this transfer window.
Gabbiadini scored nine goals in all competitions last season in Italy, after signing for Napoli from Sampdoria in January last year. He was last in the Italian national team last November, where he scored against Romania. However, he has not returned since and was not put in the Euro 2016 squad.
