Iborra back on West Ham’s radar
West Ham have reignited their interest in signing Sevilla midfielder Vicente Iborra this summer, but face competition from West Brom and Sevilla for his signature.
According to Spanish source Estadio Deportivo, the arrival of Jorge Sampaoli at Sevilla following the departure of Unai Emery could see the likes of Grzegorz Krychowiak and Vicente Iborra play a reduced role in the first-team squad next season and are therefore available for transfer.
Of the two, Krychowiak is deemed the more valuable asset to the club meaning Iborra will be the most likely candidate to be sold this summer by Sampaoli in order to bring in some fresh faces into the squad.
West Ham are among the clubs interested in signing the Spanish holding midfielder, along with Southampton and West Brom who have both tracked Iborra in the last year.
The 28-year-old joined Sevilla from Levante in 2014 for a reported fee of £4.5m, and the Europa League champions turned down a similar offer from the Hammers for Iborra in January.
The midfielder is under contract until 2020 and made 47 appearances for the La Liga club last season, but when any new manager comes in they always look to shake the team up and Iborra is tipped to be one of the fall men.
