West Ham’s Batshuayi bid still under consideration

West Ham club record €35m bid plus significant add-ons for Michy Batshuayi is still under consideration from Marseille amid interest from Tottenham and Juventus.

According to the Guardian’s Ed Aarons, the Hammers’ bid is still being reviewed by the Ligue 1 club who are eager to sell Batshuayi this summer for financial reasons.

Tottenham have also been linked with a move for the Belgian striker but have made their intentions clear that they are not willing to meet Marseille’s asking price for their star striker, which reportedly stands at €40m.

Marseille club president Vincent Labrune recent stated that he would rather sell Batshuayi to West Ham over Tottenham this summer because the Hammers are willing to offer a better deal than Spurs.

Since then, Juventus have sold Alvaro Morata back to Real Madrid and want to us the €30m they gained in that sale on buying Batshuayi to replace him, but they as well will not meet Marseille’s asking price.

West Ham are the only club close to the Ligue 1 club’s valuation of the 22-year-old and are believed to be on the verge of completing a deal. Marseille are under significant financial pressures to sell Batshuayi this summer and fear West Ham’s offer might be the best they get,
