West Ham make offer for Suso
West Ham, along with Sassuolo, Villarreal and Real Betis have all made offers to AC Milan to sign attacking midfielder Suso this summer following an impressive loan spell with fellow Serie A side Genoa last season.
According to Estadio Deportivo, Real Betis have piqued the Italian club’s interest the most with an offer to take the Spaniard on a two-season loan with an option to make the move permanent at any time.
However, West Ham along with Sassuolo and Villarreal have made similar offers to AC Milan to sign Suso, who joined the Serie A giants for a fee in the region of £1m in January 2015 from Liverpool having made just 21 appearances for the Reds in four-and-a-half years at the club, scoring just once.
The 22-year-old wasn’t a regular at Milan either, making just eight appearances in 12 months before joining Genoa on loan for the second half of the 2015/16 season where he began to show his true colours scoring six goals and recording two assists in 20 Serie A outings.
A former Spanish U21 international, Suso is under contract at the San Siro until the summer of 2019 but he’s getting to an age where he needs to be playing every week to reach his full potential.
West Ham are one of four clubs that have made an offer to sign Suso on loan with a view to buy. Perhaps, should he join, he could have a similar impact that Manuel Lanzini did when he joined on loan from Al Jazira – a move which was made permanent for £8m earlier this year.
