West Ham submit formal offer for Niang

Everton and West Ham have both submitted formal offers to AC Milan for French forward M’Baye Niang, according to Sky Italia journalist Gianluca Di Marzio.

Slaven Bilic is keen to bolster his attacking options this summer, with Andy Carroll still continuing to struggle with injury problems and both Diafra Sakho and Enner Valencia linked with exits. West Ham confirmed the arrival of Sofiane Feghouli on a free transfer earlier this week, but Bilic is still keen to add at least two more forwards (Most likely: one striker, one winger).

Details of the offers are currently disclosed, but The Guardian claim the Italian side will sanction a sale for less than the €16million they rejected from Leicester City in January, as the player has expressed his desire to leave the San Siro.

Niang has been shipped out on loan twice – to Montpelier and Genoa – since arriving at the San Siro in 2012, but was recalled to the first-team last season.

When available for selection, the 21-year-old performed well, scoring eight and assisting two in 17 appearances. But Niang’s off-the-field antics, which led to lengthy injuries, have cost him his place in Cristian Brocchi’s squad.
