Zenit join race for West Ham target Pereyra

Russian side Zenit St. Petersburg have joined West Ham and Sunderland in the race to sign Juventus midfielder Roberto Pereyra this summer.

According to Gilabola.com, the Argentine midfielder is set to leave Turin this summer with several clubs keen on acquiring his services.

Zenit are said to be leading the race to sign Pereyra who is understood to be available for as little as €15m this summer following an unimpressive campaign for Juventus.

The Serie A champions signed Pereyra from Udinese last summer on a permanent deal following a strong loan spell, but having made only 16 appearances for the club last season it’s believed that they would be willing to part-ways with the attacking midfielder.

Pereyra has been linked with the Hammers for some weeks now, along with fellow Premier League side Sunderland as a move looks certain.

Able to play as an attacking midfielder and as a right-winger, Pereyra would be an intriguing option for the Hammers as part of a rotation behind the central striker, much like Dimitri Payet and Manuel Lanzini did this past season.

The Hammers are well-known to be in the market for a winger or two this summer, and are believed to be closing in on a deal to sign Gokhan Tore for £13m from Besiktas, while Sofiane Feghouli looking increasingly more likely to join the club on a free transfer following his release from Valencia.
