West Ham’s increased second bid of £32m for Alexandre Lacazette has been turned down by Lyon, according to the Mirror.
The news broke this afternoon that the Hammers had submitted an improved offer for the French international striker – a fee over double what the Hammers paid for current club-record signing Andy Carroll.

The 24-year-old hit 23 goals in Ligue 1 last season for Lyon, and has topped the 20-goal mark in each of the last three seasons proving he’s the calibre of striker the Hammers are in desperate need for ahead of the new season.
Unfortunately, Lyon have turned down this second offer from West Ham, citing that they will not consider any offers below their £40m asking-price for their star striker.
The Hammers will not give up on signing Lacazette, but it’s unsure how much Slaven Bilic is willing to pay to sign the French international this summer.
But with Diafra Sakho set to leave the club this summer having handed in a transfer request amid reports of a £12m bid from Sunderland – which has been rejected according to the Mirror – West Ham could potentially increase their offer on the contingency that Sakho departs.
Having also seemingly been turned down by Marseille’s Michy Batshuayi, the Hammers would need to go big or go home in their pursuit of Lacazette this summer.
