West Ham are closing in on the signing of Besiktas winger Gokhan Tore after Slaven Bilic confirmed he Hammers are interested in signing him.
The former Besiktas manager confirmed earlier in the year that he tried to sign the former Chelsea youth star when he first joined West Ham just over a year ago but failed to get the deal done but it appears now a year on that he will finally get his man.
Speaking to Turkish Super Lig broadcasters Lig Tv (via Turkish-Football.com) after Turkey’s 1-0 Euro 2016 defeat to Bilic’s native Croatia earlier this afternoon, he was asked about West Ham’s interest in the winger.
Yes I want Gokhan Tore, will it happen? nobody can say yet but we want him.
However, CNN Turk are now reporting that the Hammers have agreed a £13m deal with Besiktas for Tore’s transfer which will be completed in the coming days.
Tore was omitted from Turkey’s international squad for Euro 2016 due to being suspended for their first two group games at the competition, but is considered a regular in their match-day squad.

Besiktas had been holding out for £17m for Tore’s transfer, but they had eventually dropped their demands to £13m to get the deal done, a story the Evening Standard also reported.
The Super Lig champions had been preparing for Tore’s imminent departure with the signing of Spartak Moscow winger Aras Ozbiliz in January.
Tore is said to have agreed terms with West Ham last month but the two sides were struggling to agree fee – an issue which is no longer a problem. Tore’s move to East London is all but complete.
