West Ham United are said to be closing in on a deal for Argentinian striker Jonathan Calleri.
This is according to Sky Italia journalist, Gianluca Di Marzio.
Calleri, who is on loan at Sao Paulo FC from Boca Juniors, scored sixteen goals in 41 appearances for his parent club, and since being shipped out by the investor group which bought ownership to him, has found the back of the net a brilliant twelve times in 24 games for Sao Paulo.

This investor group could provide the Hammers a problem in signing Calleri though, as Premier League rules now require any club to buy a player’s registration outright before signing him.
West Ham know all too well the troubles which come with third-party ownership of players, after the sticky situation in which they were left with when loaning and selling another Argentinian striker – Carlos Tevez.
Boca Juniors admitted in January that there had been interest in Calleri in the winter transfer window – so West Ham will need to act fast if they are to sign him, as he is somewhat of a hot property, as would be expected with his goals record.
