West Ham make offer for striker
West Ham have made an offer to Toulouse for striker Martin Braithwaite, according to Simon Jones of the Daily Mail.
The 24-year-old scored 14 goals in all competitions for the Ligue 1 side last season and did so playing both up front and on the wing, depending on the situation.
The versatility of the Danish international is a huge plus point for West Ham, who have apparently made a bid of £3million to Toulouse.
According to Braithwaite’s representative Mark McKay, the French side agreed to sell Braithwaite to a Premier League club if he helped them stay in the top division, which he did when he scored in the 3-2 win over Angers on the last day of the season.
McKay said:
Martin has fulfilled his part of the promise he made to Toulouse and now wants to take his career to the next level in the Premier League. It is an exciting opportunity for him.
With Emmanuel Emenike’s loan spell not becoming permanent, there is a hole in the Hammers squad for a striker who can play either up front or from wide and Braithwaite fits that bill perfectly.
