The French striker scored 21 goals in 34 Ligue 1 games for Lyon this past season and it looks like the Hammers were impressed enough by his abilities to make a club-record offer to attempt to sign him.
However, Lyon have rejected the bid and it remains to be seen if the London club will be willing to increase their offer.
Despite his great season, Lacazette was unable to break into the French national squad for Euro 2016 so may feel that he needs to make a move to the Premier League in order to increase his chances of selection in the future.
West Ham have made it clear that they are in the market for a striker with Lacazette, Michy Batshuayi and Christian Benteke just some of the names linked with a move to the club.
