West Ham have announced, via the club’s official website, that they have agreed a deal to sign Borussia Monchengladbach’s Havard Nordtveit on a free transfer and that he will officially become a Hammers player on July 1st.
Nordtveit joined London rivals Arsenal from Norwegian team Haugesund back in 2007 but never made an appearance for the first team, spending many loan spells at numerous clubs.

The 25-year-old’s contract with the Bundesliga side expired at the end of the season, and he has chose to join West Ham ahead of the first campaign at the Olympic Stadium.
Nordtveit is also a regular in the Norway national side. He’s made 28 appearances and has scored two goals since making his debut back in 2011.
The 25-year-old is a versatile player who is comfortable playing as either a centre-half or as a defensive midfielder.
Monchengladbach will be sad to see him leave after he helped them achieve a fourth-placed league finish this season.
