West Ham United have made initial enquiries about the possibility of signing Paris Saint-Germain striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic, according to a report from Simon Jones of the Daily Mail.
The 34-year-old is out of contract in the summer and as such, he is allowed to speak to other teams about the possibility of a free transfer and it looks like West Ham are one of the clubs who’ve made an approach to him.
Despite his advanced age, the Swede is still a huge talent with an eye for goal. He’s scored 23 goals in 22 games for PSG in Ligue 1 this season and he’s also netted three times in seven Champions League fixtures.
According to the report, Ibrahimovic is asking for a salary of £12million, which works out at roughly £230,000-a-week and there is no way that the Hammers would pay that much, in fact, not many clubs would.
A move to the Chinese Super League could earn Ibrahimovic that much money but if he fancies spending a season in England before he retires, he’ll have to seriously lower his wage demands.
