Manchester City are set to steal a march on the likes of Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool and Manchester United by looking to secure a deal to sign youngster Reece Oxford from West Ham.
According to ESPN, West Ham are reluctant to sell the 17-year-old, but that will not discourage City from attempting to do a deal.
Oxford shot to prominence at the start of the season when West Ham needed him to play due to an injury crisis and the youngster did extremely well, a Man of the Match performance against Arsenal at the Emirates will stick in the mind of Hammers fans for years to come.
Oxford is comfortable playing as a central defender or as a defensive midfielder and his potential is huge, hence why so many clubs have him marked as a potential transfer target.
West Ham have the England Under 19 player under contract until 2019 so if anybody wishes to sign them, it’d likely cost them a sizeable fee.
