West Ham are preparing a shock bid to sign Chelsea’s veteran defender John Terry this summer.
The Chelsea captain is set to become a free agent by the end of the season as the Blues refused to offer him a new contract.
But Terry has already confirmed that he desires to continue his football career and West Ham want him, reports the Brentwood Gazzette.
The Hammers are moving to the Olympic Stadium in the summer and are expected to splash huge amounts money on an elite squad for the new campaign and Terry is one of their main targets as they look to improve on this season and push towards the Champions League places next term.
Terry has made 21 appearances for the Blues in the Premier League this season in which he struggled and saw Kurt Zouma rise above him in the pecking order. He has also featured four times in the Champions League.
