Forer West Ham midfielder Jack Collison announced his retirement from football at just 27 this morning suffering from persistent knee injuries which have plagued him throughout his career.

The former Wales international had been playing for Peterborough this season after a stint at Ipswich following his release by West Ham, making 12 appearances for The Posh before calling it a day.

Collison made 121 appearances for the Hammers in seven years at Upton Park, where he scored 14 times and became a fan favourite. Able to play across the midfield, Collison played a vital role in West Ham’s promotion campaign back to the Premier League in the 2011/12 season.

We’ve picked out some lasting memories of his during his time at the club as we bid him a fond farewell!
