West Ham have confirmed via their official website that they have signed Fenerbahce striker Emmanuel Emenike on a loan that will keep the Nigerian international at Upton Park until the end of the season.
A striker has been on Slaven Bilic’s radar throughout the month as he looks to strengthen his side’s striking options ahead of a crucial second half of the season.
The striker, speaking about the move, said:
I’m very, very happy and very, very excited that I’m here. I have always known West Ham as a great club. I’ve always been watching them. West Ham’s a great club and I’m happy to be here.
The 28-year-old has represented his native Nigeria side a total of 37 times, netting an impressive nine goals during his international tenure.
If it is experience that West Ham will be looking to benefit from in the striking department, Emenike can offer exactly that having played for number of different clubs in various leagues.
Emenike has played in Russia for Spartak Moscow, in Turkey for Karabukspor & Fenerbahce and he recently enjoyed a short but successful spell for Arabian side Al Ain.
