According to recent reports, West Ham are lining up an audacious £18 million move for England international and Liverpool striker Daniel Sturridge as Hammers boss Slaven Bilic looks to bolster his already strong squad this month.
Sturridge has encountered a difficult campaign so far, with recurring injury problems hindering his first-team chances under both Brendan Rodgers and Jurgen Klopp at the helm for Liverpool.
However, Sturridge’s capabilities and prestige as a striker are not to be underestimated as it is clear to see just how good the exciting attacker is when he is at full fitness.
The Hammers will be looking to take full advantage of Liverpool’s current search for attacking reinforcements as Reds boss Klopp is reportedly looking to sell the injury-prone Sturridge to free up space for a potentially incoming forward at the club.
The 26-year-old emerges as a shock target for West Ham, however the fact that Bilic is targeting a player of Sturridge’s calibre should come as no surprise given his club’s ambitious captures as of late.
West Ham have also been linked to fiery Juventus striker Simone Zaza, however ,his £25 million valuation may be a step too far for the Hammers.
