A pair of United’s, Newcastle and West Ham, are looking to hijack Everton’s move for Sam Byram, as reported by Paul Joyce of The Express.
According to Joyce, Roberto Martinez’s side have had a £3.7million bid for the young right back accepted by Leeds United, and the player is free to discuss personal terms with the Toffees.
However, it seems that the news of Everton’s accepted bid has alerted the powers-that-be at both Newcastle and West Ham and they are apparently ready to make bids and persuade the 22-year-old.
Joyce reports that West Ham have made an offer to Leeds of two unnamed players plus cash, whilst Newcastle have yet to make a firm offer.
Leeds are reluctant to let Byram, who they’ve deployed as a right winger this season, leave the club but with his contract expiring in the summer, they have little choice but to cash in.
