West Ham striker Mauro Zarate is a transfer target of Spanish side Malaga, according to a report in The Mirror.
The La Liga side are in a good run of form, having won their last four league games, but goalscoring is still a big issue for them. They’ve only scored 13 goals in 18 games, and it’s mainly due to their stout defence that they sit in 11th place in the table.
The Argentinian forward, who joined the Hammers in May 2014 and had a loan spell at QPR in early 2015, has found himself down the pecking order at West Ham and is reportedly keen to move somewhere to get more first team football.
The 28-year-old has featured prominently in recent weeks, but when West Ham had a full squad to choose from, he often found himself on the substitutes bench. With the Hammers’ injury crisis seemingly easing off as players begin to return, Zarate is likely to be dropped from the team, and might push for a January exit.
