Payet ruled out with long term injury

West Ham’s French international play-maker, Dimitri Payet has been ruled out of action until next year. The injury came following a crunching tackle by Everton midfield enforcer James McCarthy in their 1-1 draw with Everton last weekend.

Slaven Bilic did say after the game that he did not know the full extent of the injury to the star summer signing that has taken the Premier League by storm, however, Jack Sullivan, son of West Ham co-owner David Sullivan, tweeted out that Payet will be ruled out for three months with the injury, meaning he may not be back until February or March.

Bilic said this after the match:

We had our player injured and we don’t know how bad it is, but it was bad enough for him not to finish the game. It is a big blow for us. Payet is our main player with the ball and I am not happy with the injury.

The Jack Sullivan tweeted this.

“Sadly payet will be out for about 3 months! Huge miss for the team. How the Everton player didn’t get sent off amazes me!!

It is a huge blow for the Hammers, who are in and around the European places at the moment, with a huge helping hand from Payet, who has been a revelation for them since joining from Ligue 1.

How big a miss will Payet be for West Ham?
