West Ham are closing in on the signing of Hull and England midfielder Tom Huddlestone.
A report from Mirror journalists Steve Stammers and Dean Jones suggests that the former Spurs player, who is one of the highest earners at the recently relegated side, is the subject of a bid from the Hammers. They add that no deal has yet been agreed with Alex Song.
A possible barrier to a deal for the 28-year-old, who made 67 Premier League appearances for the Tigers after his £5m move in 2013, would be the suspension of Jake Livermore after testing positive for cocaine.
However, the former England international may receive a lenient sentence according to a report from Hamish MacKay, also of the Mirror, given that the failed test is understood to have occurred shortly after the results of an inquest into the death of his child the previous year.
That, in turn, would make it easier for Hull to let go of Huddlestone, who has only one year left on his contract.
