West Ham are said to be interested in bringing striker Alvaro Negredo back to the Premier League this summer.
A report by London 24 state that the Hammers, as well as Arsenal and Tottenham was to sign the former Manchester City forward in the coming weeks, and he has also been linked with Liverpool.
Having snubbed West Ham for Manchester City in the summer of 2014, he went on to win the Premier League title with Manchester City that season, scoring 23 goals in 48 games in all competitions.
However, he did not stick around long and was sent on a season-long loan to Valencia, which included a fixed buy clause of £21m, which was exercised on July 1st earlier this summer.
He didn’t impress for Valencia, only scoring five league goals in 30 appearances, which has led to speculation that the La Liga side could be looking to offload the 29-year-old the same summer the got him on a permanent basis.
But Negredo says this isn’t the case, but understands that anything can happen in football.
“My plan is to stay and nobody has said I’m not in their plans. At the end of the day the club decides and they choose who they want and who they don’t,” he told the Spanish press.
“But nobody has said to me they don’t want me. I’m really happy and relaxed and I want to give Valencia the best of myself.
“They’ve just exercised the purchase option and it would be strange, but in football anything can happen.”
