West Ham are in a transfer battle with Everton and Crystal Palace for Alexandre Pato, according to the Metro.
The 25-year-old spent last season on loan at Sao Paolo, and scored 18 goals in 35 games, but that was not enough to convince Corinthians to keep him for the following season.
Club president Roberto De Andrade has admitted that he regretted signing the former AC Milan man, and stated that his failure at the club was entirely down to him.
Pato is now said to be on the market, and keen on a move to a big European city, and has earmarked London as a possible destination, with his agent offering his services to the likes of West Ham and Crystal Palace, who are both said to be keen.
West Ham suffered another blow to their forward ranks as Enner Valencia went down with a serious knee injury yesterday, forcing their hand in their striker search.
However, the Brazilian will not come cheap, as Corinthians are looking for £23.4m for his services – a club record fee for the Hammers.
