West Ham will complete a deal to sign Alen Halilovic from Barcelona in the next week, according to Spanish source Sport.

The two clubs are currently in advanced negotiations, and it’s believed that the transfer will be closed after Barcelona finish their pre-season tour of the US. Their final game is next Sunday, August 2nd against Fiorentina.

Everton were also keen on signing the Croatian this summer, in a similar deal to the one which saw them re-sign Gerard Deulofeu, but the young attacking midfielder has snubbed the Toffees in order to team up with fellow Croat Slaven Bilic at Upton Park.

A £4.2m deal is understood to be almost agreed between the two sides, but will include a buy-back clause, possibly in a similar price-range to the fee West Ham will be paying to sign the 18-year-old.

Touted as one of the best young players in all of European football, Halilovic will be a real coup for West Ham.
