West Ham have been boosted in their efforts to sign Atalanta striker German Denis this summer.
It was reported earlier this week that the Hammers were looking at signing the 33-year-old to bolster their striking options having missed out on several other targets including Loic Remy and Mattia Destro.
He has 69 goals and 25 assists in 226 Serie A appearances since his £5m move to Udinese from Independiente in 2008.
A report in TMW today stated that Atalanta may be forced to sell their main striker this summer, as they are strapped for cash and could sell Denis for a cut-price fee as a result.
Looking to offload a number of players to raise funds, it’s believed that if the Hammers made an offer for the five-time Argentine international, then Atalanta would accept the offer.
West Ham are believed to be desperate to add a striker this summer with Andy Carroll still suffering from an injury.
