West Ham are said to be considering making an offer for Atalanta striker German Denis this summer, according to Tutto Mercato.
Desperate to add to our attacking options, the Hammers have identified the 33-year-old as a potential low-cost addition. With five international caps for Argentina as well, he brings a certain level of ability to the squad.
The striker has 21 goals in his last two seasons in Serie A is a decent enough return for someone on the wrong side of 30. He has 69 goals and 25 assists in 226 Serie A appearances since his £5m move to Udinese from Independiente in 2008.
Known for his very physical style of play, Denis is nicknamed ‘The Tank’ in Italy. He was top scorer in the Argentina in the 2007/08 season with 27 goals in 36 games in all competitions.
With Andy Carroll still on the sidelines for at least another three months, the Hammers could do with another ‘target man’ option in his absence, and as a contingency plan for when he gets injured again.
