West Ham have been handed a major boost in their efforts to sign Tottenham striker Emmanuel Adebayor this summer.
According to the Express, the 31-year-old forward has been told by Tottenham that he has no future at the club, and will likely be offloaded in one form or another this summer.
The Hammers had agreed a loan deal to sign the Togo international on Deadline Day back in the Winter transfer window, only for Spurs chairman Daniel Levy to pull the plug at the last minute.
The former Arsenal and Manchester City man has publicly expressed his desire to fight for his place at White Hart Lane this season, but it appears the club are eager to offload the £100,000-a-week wages from their books.
Aston Villa manager Tim Sherwood wants to bring Adebayor to Villa Park this summer as a replacement for Christian Benteke. Sherwood helped spark a revival of Adebayor’s stagnating career whilst managing Tottenham, and believes he can get the same production from him this season.
Chelsea are also looking into signing Adebayor on a loan basis, should they lose Loic Remy this summer.
