West Ham are set to complete the season-long loan signing of Italian international striker Mattia Destro, reports the Daily Star.
The AS Roma striker has been allowed to find a new club this summer as he is deemed surplus to requirements with the Serie A club following a disappointing loan spell with AC Milan, scoring just three goals in 15 games.
It was reported last week that West Ham had submitted a loan offer for the 24-year-old, who failed to agreed terms with Ligue 1 side AS Monaco.
AS Roma are set to make an offer for Anderlecht striker Aleksander Mitrovic this week as they begin their search for a Destro replacement.
Destro isn’t the only AS Roma striker West Ham are in talks to sign this month as the Hammers have also begun negotiations to take Seydou Doumbia on loan for next season as well.
Slaven Bilic is keen on adding to his attacking options.
