An unnamed Premier League club have made a €11.9m bid for reported West Ham target Florian Thauvin today, reports La Provence.
The French report names West Ham, along with Tottenham and Newcastle, as interested parties keen on signing the 22-year-old Frenchman this summer.
It’s stated that one of these three clubs have made a bid for the £15m-rated Thauvin, which is believed to be close to their asking price, and the player looks set to leave Ligue 1 side Marseille this summer, with several other player having already followed suit.
The Hammers came across Thauvin whilst watching Marseille last season, and have been linked with several of their players. Having failed in moves to sign Andre Ayew, now of Swansea, and Andre Pierre-Gignac, now of Tigres, they’ve now made a £14m offer for 28-year-old attacker Dimitri Payet.
Marseille President Vincent Labrune has recently confirmed that if they get an impressive offer, it would be hard to turn down for Payet or Thauvin.
“We have offers for several players,” Labrune told RMC. “If we have an offer that we like, we will open the door.
“We have never had as many offers for as many players as we do now. Thauvin, Imbula and Payet have a lot of offers.”
Thauvin made 38 appearances last season for Marseille in all competitions, scoring five goals and recording eight assists. He would certainly add some much needed creativity to our attacking third.
