West Ham have entered the race to sign highly-rated QPR striker Charlie Austin, reports the Independent.
Southampton, Newcastle and Chelsea are all also said to be interested in the forward, who was recently given his first international call-up to the England squad.
Th 25-year-old scored 18 goals and recorded five assists last season for QPR, who were eventually relegated, leading to speculation surrounding his future at the club.
It’s claimed that the R’s are looking for a fee in the region of £15m for their star man, with Newcastle said to be leading the race.
However, if the Toon fail in a move to sign Austin, they will turn their attentions to Andy Carroll, with a deal already being discussed.
Should Chelsea manage to court Austin to Stamford Bridge, that would only fuel rumours of Loic Remy’s departure, with the Frenchman reportedly in talks with West Ham.
