West Ham will make a move to sign Liverpool defender Dejan Lovren, if Slaven Bilic is named the club’s new manager, reports the Sunday Express.
Lovren and Bilic worked together during the 46-year-old’s time as the international manager of Croatia, and wants to team up with the centre-back again.
Since his £20m move from Southampton last summer, Lovren has been nothing short of a flop at Anfield, with the Kop faithful surely glad to hear the news a team is willing to take him off their hands.
West Ham have made a habit of this in recent years, having signed Stewart Downing for £5m from the Reds in 2013 following two poor years at Liverpool, as well as scooping up Joe Cole on an 18-month deal.
But perhaps most notably would be the Hammers’ £15m swoop for Andy Carroll, who only managed 11 goals in 58 games for the club in two-and-a-half years following his £35m move from Newcastle.
