Sampdoria are hoping to conclude a player-swap deal with West Ham involving midfielder Pedro Obiang and striker Enner Valencia, according to Gianluca Di Marzio.
It was initially reported that Club President Massimo Ferrero was flying to England this week to negotiate with West Ham regarding two separate deals.
However, it’s now believed that he will propose the Obiang-Valencia swap deal, and see if the Hammers have any interest in such a deal.
The Irons have been chasing the Spanish midfielder for some time, and were hoping to agree a deal in the region of £6m this summer as a permanent Alex Song replacement in the side.
Valencia on the other hand hasn’t quite lived up to his £12m price-tag, with only four league goals in his maiden season at Upton Park, but is still being touted for a move across the Capital to rivals Chelsea.
