Gignac is reportedly waiting to see who the next West Ham manager is before making his mind up about a summer transfer, claims the Mirror.
The striker has offers from Dynamo Moscow and West Brom, but should West Ham appoint Marcelo Bielsa as their new manager, he would follow him to Upton Park if the opportunity came about.
21 goals in 37 games this season for Gignac makes him one of Europe’s deadliest forwards.
—————– UPDATE —————–
West Ham are in talks with the representatives of Marseille striker Andre-Pierre Gignac over a possible free transfer move this summer, according to France Football.
The French international’s contract with the Ligue 1 side expires this month, and he will be leaving the club.
He’s already received two offers as both Dynamo Moscow and West Brom have offered three-year deals to the striker.
However, Moscow’s heavily trumps the Baggies’, which is worth €5m-a-year, as the Russian side are willing to double that offer.
AC Milan, Inter Milan, Napoli, Fiorentina, Sampdoria and Olympiakos are just some of the continental sides to have been in contact with Gignac, as he begins to weigh up offers.
The 29-year-old though has an ongoing desire to play in the Premier League as Newcastle, Stoke City and Southampton all keep tabs on his situation.
Money doesn’t seem to be the driving force behind his decision on where he plays next, otherwise he would accept Dynamo’s offer.
West Ham’s situation, along with Southampton in terms of having Europa League football next season, gives them an edge over their domestic competitors, and are arguably the two best landing spots for him.
Perhaps a big factor in his decision would be linking up with a former manager. Marcelo Bielsa may quit Marseille after a transfer dispute, and it’s not out of the question for him to want to bring in a player he’s familiar with.
