West Ham have made a €6.5m bid for Sampdoria midfielder Pedro Obiang, claims Sky Italia reporter Alfredo Pedulla.
Obiang impressed against West Ham in their final pre-season game before the start of the 2014/15 season for Sampdoria, and the club have been tracking his progress in Serie A, and have scouted him several times.
Pedulla claims that Sampdoria were holding out for a bid of €10m, but a willing to meet halfway with West Ham at a fee of nearer €8m.
“Clearly, should an offer arrive ready to satisfy both Pedro and Sampdoria, he could leave” stated Obiang’s agent.
The 23-year-old Spanish youth international central midfielder has also been tracked by both Manchester City and Chelsea this season.
His impressive performances have helped guide Sampdoria to fifth place in Serie A, and would seemingly replace the ‘pass-first’ Alex Song at the base of the midfield diamond, recording 81% passing accuracy this season, and three goals from midfield.
